The service

BoatVertical provides a free public-record research tool and format decoder. It is not a marine survey, insurance assessment, ownership certificate, finance clearance or guarantee of seaworthiness.

Interpret results carefully

A plausible HIN format is not evidence that a hull is authentic. A matching name or model in a report is only a possible lead. Verify all details against original records and independent professional advice before making a purchase.

Availability and coverage

Public sources can be incomplete, delayed or inaccurate. BoatVertical uses dated snapshots and does not guarantee that all incidents or vessels are included. No paid full reports are sold in this release.

Responsible use

Do not use a possible report match to accuse an owner or seller of wrongdoing. Do not upload personal information, interfere with the service or misrepresent its results as certified findings.

Your rights

These terms do not seek to exclude rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded. The conditions for any future paid service will be provided before purchase.
